About Us

The Health Clinic at the Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine, located in Provo, is a multi-disciplinary medical facility dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare and health education. We offer a range of services, including primary care, women’s health, mental health and osteopathic manipulative medicine. Our clinic also serves as a hub for medical education, preparing future osteopathic physicians. Patients benefit from the extra attention and care provided through these unique learning opportunities.

Our mission is to deliver compassionate, timely, and confidential care of the highest quality. We are committed to holistic osteopathic principles, preventative health, patient education, and collaborative decision-making as the foundation of our practice.

  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

    Dr. Hawkins Mecham, DO, provides expert care at our clinic through the use of osteopathic manual medicine. He is a proud graduate of Des Moines University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following his intern year at Eastern Niagara Hospital in Lockport, New York, Dr. Mecham completed his residency in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) at the Kirksville College of Osteopathic Medicine in Missouri. He is board-certified in Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine.

    With nearly a decade of experience in medical education and clinical practice, Dr. Mecham has a strong commitment to advancing the field. In addition to his role as a practicing physician, he is the Program Director for the proposed Osteopathic Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine (ONMM) residency program and Assistant Professor of Osteopathic Principles and Practices at Noorda College of Osteopathic Medicine in Provo, Utah.

    Outside of his professional responsibilities, Dr. Mecham enjoys functional strength training, fitness, and spending time outdoors with his family and friends.

  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine, Pediatrics

    From a young age, Dr. Romero knew she wanted to be a doctor. She experienced childhood health problems, including asthma, that made it difficult to play sports or engage in play with other kids. She’s experienced firsthand the impact healthcare professionals can make through ordinary care during life’s big moments.

    Dr. Romero grew up right here in Utah and earned a bachelor’s degree in nutrition and physical fitness from the University of Utah before attending medical school.

    In Dr. Romero’s office, kids are treated like people but allowed to be kids. They have a stake in their own healthcare. Dr. Romero’s goal is to work with kids and parents to achieve the best health outcomes through teamwork, open communication, and fun!

    Dr. Romero's Hours: M,W 9am-12pm, T 1-5pm.

  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

    Dr. Dustin R. Danowski is a board-certified Family Medicine physician specializing in osteopathic manipulative medicine. He went to medical school at Rocky Vista University in Parker, CO and completed his residency in Family Medicine at Blessing Health System in Quincy, IL. In addition to his practice, he is currently working as adjunct faculty at the Noorda College of osteopathic medicine in Provo Utah.

    Dr. Danowski's Hours: Th 10am-12pm; every other Fri 9am-12pm

Nathan Nakken, OMM, Osteopathic, Noorda
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

    Dr. Nakkan brings extensive clinical and academic experience to his role as a family and neuromusculoskeletal medicine physician. He is a graduate of Rocky Vista University in Colorado College of Osteopathic Medicine. Following medical school, He completed his residency in Family Medicine at Blessing Hospital and Southern Illinois University Center for Family Medicine in Quincy, IL, and a second residency in Neuromusculoskeletal Medicine at Arizona College of Osteopathic Medicine. As a medical student, Dr. Nakken was chosen for the prestigious Harold Ives Magoun Jr. DO, FAAO, FCA Memorial Undergraduate Osteopathic Principles & Practices (OPP) Teaching Fellowship, which he completed in 2014. His professional experience and interests include academic medicine and teaching the future generation of osteopathic physicians. Dr. Nakken has extensive teaching experience across a variety of medical schools and universities. He currently serves as a Clinical Associate Professor of Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine at Noorda-COM and is the OMM Department chair. Dr. Nakken’s hobbies include: making his children laugh, spending time with his family, reading, composing music, playing volleyball, fishing, hiking, biking, and camping.

Nathan Barnhurst, OMM, Noorda
  • Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine

    Dr. Barnhurst treats patients utilizing Osteopathic manual medicine. He is a graduate of Lincoln Memorial University - DeBusk College of Osteopathic Medicine and completed his neuromusculoskeletal residency at Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. Dr. Barnhurst is passionate about empowering patients to take an active role in their care and improving their quality of life. His clinical interests include the mind-body interaction in chronic pain and exercise prescription for recurrent somatic dysfunction. In addition to his practice, he is currently working as a adjunct faculty at the Noorda College of osteopathic medicine in Provo Utah. He enjoys quality musculoskeletal care and installing hope into his patients to help them enjoy a better quality of life.
